The helical ribbon impeller is a slow‑speed impeller. The number of ribbons in a single impeller ranges from two to four, and the diameters can be asymmetric. Blades with different helical directions can be configured according to the operating conditions to achieve axial top‑to‑bottom circulation (typically outer upward and inner downward flow). An anchor‑frame impeller fitted close to the vessel wall can be added at the bottom to enhance mixing in the lower part of the tank. It normally operates in the laminar regime and is suitable for high‑viscosity liquids and pseudoplastic fluids in processes such as mixing, reaction, polymerization, and heat transfer. For wall‑sticking materials, scrapers can be added to improve the wall‑cleaning capability of the impeller.
